Commercial Center
It has like central axis the San Martin Avenue, with the most varied commercial supply. It is worth mention Las Heras avenue, forced step for those who are in search of regional articles and tourist services; and Colon-Villanueva and Belgrano avenues which reunite the nocturnal supply of gastronomy and entertainment.
Foundation Area
This tour takes epicenter in Pedro del Castillo square, in honor to the founder of Mendoza in 1561. There is a museum that registers the evolution of the place throughout the years; also an Underground Camera, with valuable archaeological rest of the antique city of Mendoza; and finally, a patio with beautiful sculptures with high artistic value. The ruins of San Francisco (pertaining to the historical Jesuistic Company) rise in front of the square. La Alameda Stroll
It extends throughout San Martin ave. from Cordoba street. The stroll was created by General San Martin and represented an encounter place for the neighbors of the old city of Mendoza. Recently remodelated, it invites visitors to cross it over and to enjoy its attractive cultural supply, with the historical museum and the Public Library in honor to General San Martin, its cultural centers and coffees, and the flowers stands across the centennial Tajamar channel.
Independence Square
Neuralgic center of the new city urban design, when the original city was destroyed by the earthquake. With an extension of 4 hectares and a great architectonic design, it hosts the artisan fair, the municipal modern Art museum, the municipal Julio Quintanilla theater, as well as annually the Vendimia celebration of Capital city (lasts days of February ), and the provincial book fair (on September).
